A little history
In 2020, a prehistoric site from the Middle Palaeolithic, filled with tools crafted using a technology typical of Neanderthal man, was uncovered near the banks of the Seine in the commune. Mammoth fossils were also found there. In the 6th century, the territory extended as far as the gates of the Louvre, as far as the boundaries of the forêt de Rouvray, Boulogne-sur-Seine, the city of Saint-Denis and Montmartre. Still in the 6th century, a charter of Chilpéric Ier (king of the Franks) clearly mentions a palacio Clippiaco.
