A little history
The site was occupied as far back as prehistoric times. Excavations have revealed the existence of walls, the floors of huts, hearths and ceramics dating from the 6th to the 4th century BC. Roman colonisation also left traces. Two altars were discovered, the first dedicated to Mars Buxenus, the second to the Sulevæ, nymphs of the springs.
