A little history
Discoveries of the first order of fossils have been made in the area, notably dinosaur eggs, but also bones which led to one of them being given the name Velaux, Atsinganosaurus velauciensis. Several sites draw our attention. On the left bank of the coastal river L'Arc, at the exit of the gorges de Roquefavour at the exit of the plains of Aix-Les Milles, stands a hill in the shape of a truncated cone, Sainte Propice. Traces of protohistoric habitation have been recorded there.
