A little history
At the beginning of the Iron Age, the region was inhabited by the Ligurians. Traces of dwellings and ramparts left by the agrarian community of the early Iron Age (8th to 5th century BC) have been discovered on the left bank of the Ouvèze, at the foot of the rocky spur. It is on this elevated ground, which stands out in the landscape (currently occupied by the Haute-Ville), that the Ligurian populations took shelter, followed by the Celto-Ligurians from the time of the Voconces invasion in the 4th century BC.
