A little history
La Baume Périgaud is situated at the lieu-dit de la colle de Revel. The entrance to this cave, which appears to have been used during the medieval or modern period as a sand quarry, forms a rock shelter. Excavations carried out at the beginning of the 20th century yielded a large number of hand-moulded pottery pieces as well as a hearth, which appear to point to the Neolithic period. It seems to have been a shepherd's shelter.
