Tarascon, or Tarascon-sur-Rhône, is a French commune situated at the western tip of the département des Bouches-du-Rhône in the south-east of France, in the région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. A little history
Shards from the late Bronze Age were found in a shelter at the lieu-dit de la Lèque, attesting to a settlement of the Alpilles as far back as Prehistory. During the first Iron Age, whilst most of the prehistoric settlements of the Alpilles continued to be inhabited, new elevated sites, as well as sites on the foothills and even on the plain, began to be colonised.
