A little history
A dolmen was discovered in the 19th century near the aerodrome, one of whose stones is on display at the Musée départemental de Gap. This bears witness to a population present from the end of prehistory. Between the 8th century and the 10th century, the Saracens who came from Provence were feared for pillaging and plundering as they passed through. After numerous acts of violence, including the attack on Mayeul de Cluny in 974, these Saracens were decimated by Guillaume Ier de Provence and driven definitively from the region.
