A little history
Human presence from the Neolithic period on the La Garenne site. A Roman tomb and furnishings were discovered at the lieu-dit Barry. Regarding the seigneury, from a feudal point of view, Suze-la-Rousse was a land belonging to the princes of Orange (of the house of Baux) from 1146. In 1272 and 1392, the land was paid homage to the bishops of Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux. In 1401, it came into the possession of the Raybaud.
