A little history
Before the tenth century, the archpriesthood of Romans was known as the archpriesthood of Octavéon. In 838, Romans came into being with the founding, near a ford on the Isère, of an abbey by Barnard, Archbishop of Vienne. This abbey was to be its first lord, holding both spiritual and temporal powers. During the tenth century, the monks of the abbey were replaced by canons. They formed a chapter under the supervision of the abbot Léger, son of the lord of Clérieux and Archbishop of Vienne.

Buying in Romans-sur-Isère
Reading the €1,322 to €1,988 band is a buyer’s main tool in Romans-sur-Isère. A property at the bottom is not a bargain and one at the top is not a rip-off, the band measures how different the properties are, not how well they are priced.
Prices moving up narrow the room for negotiation without closing it, a property that has been on the market a long time is negotiable whatever the trend says.
Acquisition costs are budgeted on top of the price, around 8 % on an existing property, around 3 % on a new one. These are orders of magnitude; the notary computes the exact amount.
