A little history
From 1152 to 1789, the comté de Sancerre belonged to great families of the kingdom of France, successively the maison de Sancerre (1152–1419), the maison d'Auvergne (1419–1436), the Famille de Bueil (1451–1628), the maison de Condé (1628–1777), the maison d'Espagnac (1777–1786) and King Louis XVI (1786–1791).
