During the Second World War, after enduring bombardments, the village was liberated by the Canadians around 12 August 1944. In 2009, an unexploded American bomb weighing 250 kg was found on the territory of the commune. On 1 January 2025, the commune left the communauté de communes Cingal-Suisse Normande and joined the communauté de communes Val ès dunes.
