The history of Trouville dates back to the Middle Ages. The town was then a small fishing port. On 1 August 1417, Henri V landed at the mouth of the Touques on the beach at Trouville, before his conquest of Normandie. In the 19th century, the former fishing village became a tourist destination in Normandie, particularly popular with inhabitants of the Île-de-France.
