A little history

The seigneury, from a feudal point of view, the land was a fief of the dauphins. Saint-Sorlin formed part of the mandement of Moras-en-Valloire. Before 1790, Saint-Sorlin was a parish of the diocese of Vienne and of the community of Moras, whose church, dedicated to Saint Saturnin, was that of a Benedictine priory (a dependency of the abbaye de Tournus), united from the 14th century onwards with that of la Motte-de-Galaure and towards the end of the 18th century with the archbishopric of Vienne. Its incumbent held, on this account, the tithes of this parish.
