Saint-Pierre-en-Auge is a new French commune situated in the département of Calvados in the Normandie region, with a population of 7,100 inhabitants, created in 2017 by the merger of Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives and Boissey, Bretteville-sur-Dives, Hiéville, Mittois, Montviette, L'Oudon, Ouville-la-Bien-Tournée, Sainte-Marguerite-de-Viette, Saint-Georges-en-Auge, Thiéville, Vaudeloges and Vieux-Pont-en-Auge, which became its delegated communes.
A little history
On 1st January 2017, the commune of Vendeuvre left the communauté de communes des Trois Rivières to join that of the Pays de Falaise. On the same date, the thirteen remaining communes (Boissey, Bretteville-sur-Dives, Hiéville, Mittois, Montviette, L'Oudon, Ouville-la-Bien-Tournée, Sainte-Marguerite-de-Viette, Saint-Georges-en-Auge, Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives, Thiéville, Vaudeloges and Vieux-Pont-en-Auge) merged within the new commune. Its administrative centre is Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives, following the préfectoral order of 8th September 2016.
