A little history
The earliest human traces genuinely identified at Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny date from the Bronze Age, with the discovery of two daggers and a flat axe. In addition to these three isolated finds, the discovery of a tomb in 1978 has also been recorded. Furthermore, two suspected sites contemporaneous with the above, and possibly older, may be added to these. In 1965 and 1968, abbé Félix Germain wrote of a "meillan" said to be situated above les Allues. This location is currently covered by forest and scrubland. In the same work, he cites abbé François Gex, who reported the accidental discovery of bones in a quarry, not far from La Noiriat.
