A little history
The history of Saint-Jeannet is that of a frontier village between Provence and the county of Nice. The Ligurians were the first known inhabitants, whom the Phocaeans (Greeks) and the Romans found established on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The high lands overlooking the baous form a vast limestone plateau at an altitude of 800 metres, which preserves interesting vestiges of human occupation dating back to the beginning of recorded history. From these refuges, they were able to observe potential enemies.
