A little history
Created by a prefectoral order of 23 October 2018, it was formed from the grouping of the three communes of Gresin, Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers and Saint-Maurice-de-Rotherens, which became delegated communes. Its chief town was established at Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers. The merger of the three communes gave rise to some opposition from the population, notably in Saint-Maurice-de-Rotherens where a collective of opponents was formed.
