A little history
Saint-Galmier came into existence during the Gallo-Roman era. At that time, it is believed the town was called Vicus Auditiacus. This has been confirmed by the discovery of Roman baths not far from the source Badoit. Indeed, in 1884, during excavations carried out to search for new water sources, remains of these baths were discovered, dating from a period spanning the middle of the 2nd century to the middle of the 4th century.
