A little history
Two large Roman villas were discovered at the lieu-dits of Placis vert and la Gâtine. From the middle of the 12th century, the nuns of Saint-Sulpice-la-Forêt were recognised as having rights over the church of Saint-Aubin. They then established in the parish a prieuré-cure served by condonat brothers attached to their monastery. At that time, the local seigneurie, falling under the baronnie d'Aubigné, belonged to the Montgermont family.
