A little history
The direct seigneury of Roulans, originally known as Rollens, was in the 12th century the possession of the lords of La Roche through the marriage of Sybille, lady of Roulans, with Pons Ier. The La Roche family passed on its rights by descent to the de Ray family, one of its branches.
