Quint-Fonsegrives [kɛ̃t fɔ̃səɡʁiv] is a French commune situated in the north-east of the département of Haute-Garonne, in the région of Occitanie. Historically and culturally, the commune lies within the Pays toulousain, which extends around Toulouse along the valley of the Garonne, bordered to the west by the hills of the Savès, to the east by those of the Lauragais, and to the south by those of the valley of the Ariège and the Volvestre. Exposed to a modified oceanic climate, it is drained by the Saune and by various other small watercourses.
A little history
For a long time, the historical heart of the commune was the hamlet of Quint, situated 2 km from the town hall in the direction of the east. After the Second World War, the centre of gravity of the commune shifted towards the hamlet of Fonsegrives, further to the west, which grew in importance owing to its proximity to Toulouse and to its proximity to major transport routes. Fonsegrives, situated at the intersection of the route nationale 126 (Toulouse to Castres) and the route départementale 18 (Fonsegrives to Revel), saw several residential housing estates established around the new town hall and the chapelle Notre-Dame de l'Annonciation, built in 1965 by the abbé Georges Baccrabère.
