A little history
A town of sailors, Pleurtuit was for a time the place of production of craquelins, a local speciality baked in the ovens of Bourgneuf. The Coriosolites, a Gaulish people inhabiting the region, established a fortification of the "éperon barré" type on the point of Cancaval. The site was occupied at least until the final La Tène period. The existence of port activity at Jouvente in Pleurtuit is attested from 1250.
