A little history
A hoard (a founder's cache) made up of various objects dating from the Bronze Age was found in February 1892 and acquired by Paul du Châtellier. It is now held at the musée d'Archéologie nationale de Saint-Germain-en-Laye. A schist sword, also dating from the Bronze Age, was found in 1989 at la Costardais. A fragment of a bronze bracelet was also found in 2014 on the site of the former lost manor of Bernohen, which dated from the Middle Ages. At the time of the spread of Christianity into inland Bretagne, Judicaël (king in 610), one of the disciples of the great evangelist saint Méen, is said to have chosen the château du Gué de Plélan as his favourite residence.
