A little history
A menhir is said to have existed at Les Emailleries, destroyed around 1860 by the vicinal road authority which used it as a quarry. During the Gaulish period, Pipriac was situated in the territory of the Coriosolites. A monetary hoard, known as the "Trésor de Pipriac" (but actually discovered in the commune of Guipry in 1908) was unearthed there. It comprises approximately 600 coins attributed to the Riedones and the Vénètes as well as a few Pictonian coins, and bears witness, according to Louis Pape, following J.-B.
