A little history
The current boundaries of the 7th arrondissement date from 1860, following the law of 16 June 1859 which gave rise to a new division of Paris into 20 arrondissements. They encompass the greater part of the former 10th arrondissement. The districts of the 7th arrondissement are part of what are known as the beaux quartiers of the west of Paris. A great many official and political institutions are concentrated there.

Buying in Paris 7e Arrondissement
Reading the €11,788 to €17,516 band is a buyer’s main tool in Paris 7e Arrondissement. A property at the bottom is not a bargain and one at the top is not a rip-off, the band measures how different the properties are, not how well they are priced.
Acquisition costs are budgeted on top of the price, around 8 % on an existing property, around 3 % on a new one. These are orders of magnitude; the notary computes the exact amount.
Prices moving up narrow the room for negotiation without closing it, a property that has been on the market a long time is negotiable whatever the trend says.
