Noailles is a French commune situated in the département of Oise and the Hauts-de-France region. The commune was marked by an industrial past in the 19th and early 20th century centred on the manufacture of brushes.
A little history
Two sarcophagi and a lance were discovered at Boncourt in 1836, establishing that this place was inhabited in ancient times. In 1130, Dreux de Mouchy gave the land of Longvilliers to the chapter of the cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais. A flour mill was installed on the Sillet by the lord of Trie, falling under the dependency of the châtellenie de Mouchy-le-Châtel. While Beauvais was being hit hard by the textile crisis, the Beauvais town councillors decided to renovate the Paris road on the stretch known as "La Croix" from Sainte-Geneviève to Beauvais at a cost of 50,000 livres.
