A little history
Traces of a Roman road have been found at Neuilly-en-Thelle, along with Gallo-Roman remains and coins from the Carolingian period, attesting to the ancient occupation of the site. The village suffered three terrible fires, in 1711, 1755 and 1804, leading to numerous rebuilding works. In the 17th century, the village was abandoned following an epidemic. More recently, the locality was well known for its stone quarries, as well as for the dressing of wools and goat hairs, used in the making of buttons.
