A little history
Traces of human occupation date back to Roman and Celtic times, and two temples once existed on the territory. A Gallo-Roman road linking Rennes to Vannes passed through the commune. The town was established along its route during the Merovingian period (750 to 850 AD). At the gate of Rennes known as the Mordelaise, the dukes of Bretagne swore an oath to defend the independence of the duchy.
