Mondonville is a French commune situated in the north of the département of Haute-Garonne, in the Occitanie region. From a historical and cultural standpoint, the commune lies within the Pays toulousain, which extends around Toulouse along the Garonne valley, bordered to the west by the hills of the Savès, to the east by those of the Lauragais and to the south by those of the Ariège valley and the Volvestre. Exposed to an altered oceanic climate, it is drained by the Panariol stream and by various other small watercourses.
A little history
By virtue of its position and geographical situation, Mondonville has been the site of a multitude of human encampments, including primitive encampments that have left numerous traces behind them such as knapped stone tools. Preventive excavations, carried out during the routing of the itinéraire à grand gabarit (linked to the production of the Airbus A380), brought to light within the commune an Acheulean site at the locality known as Labadie. Mondonville is not mentioned until the Middle Ages. According to ancient parchments, this village was one of the possessions of Guillaume III Taillefer, Comte de Toulouse and son of Pons, Comte d'Albigeois.
