A little history
In December 1464, through his lettres patentes, King Louis XI (1423-1483) confirmed the privileges granted by his predecessors. In 1622, during a new war of religion, the town was taken by Louis XIII. The administrative reform of the Revolution (1789-1790) placed the commune of Moissac in the département of Lot. Moissac was the chef-lieu of an arrondissement from 1800 until 1926.
