The parish of Miniac-Morvan was part of the doyenné de Dol, which fell under the évêché de Dol, and is placed under the patronage of Saint-Pierre. The parish already existed in the 12th century. However, Gallo-Roman remains exist within the commune. According to a legend, the hermit saint Colomban is said to have built an oratory in a forest in the 7th century.
