A little history
Remains of settlement dating from the Neolithic period (around 5,000 years before our era) have been found at the sites of Bonnefont and Lagardy. The château Unang and its surroundings have proved very rich in remains from the Neolithic period, the Bronze Age, and the Roman colonisation. The château takes its name from the Gallo-Roman villa that was built here, which was known as illa Unango. At the time of the Great Invasions, a significant battle decimated the local population.
