A little history
Occupied from protohistory (or even from Prehistory) by a Celto-Ligurian oppidum, the hill of la Quille became in the 10th century a fortress, then a castle, surrounded by a powerful wall, which passed in the 11th century into the hands of the archbishops of Aix-en-Provence. They became the lords of le Puy and increased their holdings through acquisitions in the surrounding territory. At that time, the beginnings of a fairly scattered settlement can be identified. The inhabitants tended to withdraw to the heights, to the isolated hills of le Puech and to that of Féline, further to the south.
