A little history
In the Middle Ages, the town existed, dominated by the lord of Feugerolles who held the privilege of justice and administration. Like many villages, it had a few blacksmiths and makers of crossbows. The permutation of 1173 between the comte de Forez and the Église de Lyon indicates that whoever held the château de Feugerolles would owe liege homage and fealty to the count. The église Saint-Clément du Chambon appears in 1183 among the possessions of the abbaye de l'Île Barbe, and the living of the parish was in the gift of that of Firminy, which was dependent on the same monastery.
