A little history
It is in 1026 that the term Castrum Roquetta first appears in various documents belonging to the monks of Lérins. This castrum was given to the abbey by Aldebert, évêque d'Antibes. In 1109 Pierre Ismidon, seigneur of the locality, gave the terre de Saint-Georges to the abbey and became a monk there. This land was so named on account of the old chapel dedicated to Saint Georges.
