La Léchère is a French commune situated in the département of Savoie, in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. A merger of communes took place on 30 June 1972, following which the communes of Celliers, Doucy, Pussy, Notre-Dame-de-Briançon, Petit-Cœur and Nâves were grouped together into one single entity. On 1 January 2019, Bonneval and Feissons-sur-Isère joined La Léchère, which became a new commune.
A little history
As a parish, Pussy existed in the 12th century. During the partition of 1170, it was assigned to the regular chapter of Saint-Pierre-de-Moutiers. After 1605, the date of the union of the two chapters, the new metropolitan chapter inherited all the rights, in particular the nomination of the parish priest, alternately with Rome and after competition. The church, dedicated to Saint Jean-Baptiste, had in 1653 a single nave with a transept and two lateral galleries facing one another.
