A little history
Surveys carried out in the 20th century in the commune of La Gaude brought to light open-air sites, known by the names of the stations des Colles and du Bois du Tacon, as well as in the quartier de Trigan. These sites yielded material (burins, scrapers, blades, hand points, among others), deposited at the Musée de préhistoire régionale de Menton. These sites attest to a human presence during the Lower, Middle and Upper Palaeolithic, as well as the Epipaleolithic. A Roman occupation is well attested at La Gaude.
