A little history
The subdélégué of Fougères wrote in 1771, «Presque toutes les paroisses (..) sont dans la plus affreuse misère, surtout Parcé, Billé, Javené, La Chapelle-Janson, Luitré, Le Loroux, Laignelet, Lécousse, Saint-Germain-en-Coglès. Le plus grand nombre des habitants de ces paroisses sont sans ressources, nus, couchés sur la paille, malades et manquent de pain». La Chapelle-Janson was among the communes declared totally insurgent in 1793–1794.
