A little history
In 1885, construction works on the road at the foot of the cliff upstream from les Baraques, at Bobache, brought to light flint tools. Two rock shelters were excavated in 1904. There was a hunting station used by hunters of marmots, ibex and hares, and also by fishermen (a harpoon made of reindeer antler) in the Vernaison. Two periods are represented, the end of the Magdalenian (13000–10000 BCE) and the Epipaleolithic (Azilian, 8000 BCE). The territory falls within the Gaulish tribe of the Voconces.
