A little history
La Chapelle was given around 1187, along with the fief d'Ory, by Guy III le Bouteiller, to the church of Senlis, on the condition that an anniversary be celebrated every year in memory of Pierre l'Hermite his brother, archdeacon of Soissons, who had owned these lands and had left them to him as an inheritance. As its name suggests, the locality was merely an annex or branch of the parish of Orry-la-Ville, and within the extent of its territory there was another parish known as Geni in the 13th century, the patronage of which belonged to the abbaye Saint-Rémy de Senlis.
