A little history
Hérimoncourt is the birthplace of the company that has today become the Groupe PSA. The village was shaped by the presence of the Peugeot family at least since 1725, the date at which a miller by the name of Jean-Jacques Peugeot is recorded in Hérimoncourt. Two of his descendants, Jean-Pierre and Jean-Frédéric Peugeot, installed a hydraulic mill in 1790 at the lieu-dit Sous-Cratet. This mill was used from 1810 onwards for metallurgical manufacturing.
