A little history
The site was already occupied during the Neolithic period. A biface, a flint knapped during the Solutrean period, visible at the musée de Nancy, was found by a hunter in a ploughed field in the commune. According to tradition, Gondrecourt was founded by Gondoin or Gondulphe, comte d'Ornois, seigneur de Meuse, father of the 17th bishop of Toul, saint Leudin-Bodon, and of sainte Salaberge, in the 7th century. Two necropolises from this period have indeed been discovered.
