A little history
The site of Mourre-Poussiou attests to the presence of groups of hunter-gatherers from the Epipalaeolithic period. This small elongated plateau is situated on the eastern bank of the étang de l'Estomac, approximately 1 km to the north-east of the town. Its perimeter was made up of rock shelters hollowed out by erosion from various periods. These have disappeared or collapsed as a result of the retreat of the cliff face.
