A little history
Throughout this long period, the territory of the commune amounted to a small island emerging in the middle of a marshy area. Although it may have been crossed by fishermen or hunter-gatherers, no trace has survived. Regarding prehistory, one must go to the western boundary of the commune with Sorgues, on the hill known as the Mour(r)e de Sève, to discover that it was inhabited between the 6th and the 2nd century BC.
