Dun-sur-Meuse is a French commune situated in the département de la Meuse, in the région Grand Est. Its inhabitants are called the Dunois.
A little history
In the 11th century, Godefroid II de Basse-Lotharingie, comte d'Ardennes, built a château on the hill, which the sires d'Apremont completed in 1402 with a fortified enclosure. The duc de Bouillon, father of Turenne, seized the fortress in 1592. On the orders of Louis XIII, the château was dismantled in 1642, meeting the same fate as most of the strongholds of Lorraine. In 1648, Anne d'Autriche donated the town to the Grand Condé.
