A little history
The first mention of the village of Cires-lès-Mello dates back to 1170. The railway served the town in 1857 with the opening of the gare de Cires-lès-Mello on the ligne de Creil à Beauvais, making travel easier for residents and facilitating the transport of goods. During the First World War, Cires-lès-Mello was behind the front line and served as a transit and billeting point for French troops. It was spared enemy bombardment except during the night of 20 to 21 July 1918, when a German bomber aircraft destroyed several buildings in the commune and killed four civilians.
