A little history
In the middle of the 11th century, knights donated their possessions to a certain Albaud, a priest who had become a monk at the abbaye Saint-Florent de Saumur. The latter founded a priory there with the assets he owned, supplemented by further assets donated by the aforementioned knights. It appears that this priory was subsequently suppressed before the Revolution, but the abbé retained the right of presentation to the cure of the parish. A fortified château was built there in 1040 and took the name of Plessis-Innoguen.
