A little history
During prehistory, there was no permanent settlement on this hill overlooking the Rhône valley. It served solely as a hunting territory, as attested by the lithic tools and pottery fragments found in this area. The Roman colonisation was no more significant. Excavations, until now, have only yielded a funerary stele on the plateau de Campbeaux and a tomb with grave goods, dated to the end of the 3rd century, on the chemin de Jonqueret.
