A little history
Jules César, having been unable to give battle to the Bellovaques on the plain of Catenoy-Nointel, was unable to cross the marshes that stretched between Clermont and the bois des Côtes. He had his camp set up to the north of the plateau. This is the champ de Courcelles. He remained there from February to August 51 BC.
