A little history
Flints and a stone axe found in the quartier de la Fontaine Grelot in Bourg-la-Reine, as well as bronze axes, bear witness to human presence during the prehistoric period. The seigneurie of Bourg-la-Reine was given by Louis VI le Gros (1081-1137) in October 1132 to the ladies of the abbaye de Montmartre, a fief he had obtained from the nuns of the abbaye Notre-Dame d'Yerres in exchange for the land of Invilliers in the parish of Briis-sous-Forges, which he had acquired from the canons of Notre-Dame de Paris.
